The Rep Fitness FT-3000 Victory Functional Trainer is the perfect addition to any home gym that is low on space. While the machine packs less weight than the Rep Fitness FT-5000 functional trainer, it also offers a footprint that is significantly smaller, while still maintaining Rep’s high level of quality.

Repfitness functional trainers are, in our opinion, the best option for most home gyms and garage gyms. The company has placed an emphasis on creating a commercial-grade product at home-based prices.

The frame on the FT-3000 meets the expectations of that commercial build. Rep Fitness’ smaller functional trainer still utilizes 11-gauge steel which is backed by a lifetime frame warranty. That steel is then coated in a two-layer electrostatic powder coating. The coating on Rep-s equipment is thick and chip resistant and really stands out with its black metallic finish.

The frame ships partially assembled with its side pieces ready to go. Everything is packed in a crate and shipped via freight, ensuring that your product isn’t damaged during the delivery process.

What we personally love about this product is the size. The FT-3000 functional trainer is just 78″ tall, 53″ wide, and 34″ deep. If you’re short on space, this is a product that can fit into most home gyms.

The frame also includes cable columns that feature laser-etched markings, making it easy to find the exact position you require for each movement. With 15 positions to choose from, most functional trainer exercises can be accomplished.

In the documentation for this Repfitness functional trainer, the company specifically notes that they have included “two capped bolt holes on the center pull-up crossmember.” The company says these holes may be used for future grip attachment capabilities which sounds exciting but very open-ended.

The frame also includes a center attachment holder with storage pegs, a fairly standard option for functional trainers these days.

If you’re worried about your gym floor, Rep has added rubber feet for the legs of the base, this helps the unit remain firmly in place while reducing impact in your flooring when weight is dropped down harder than it probably should be.

Rep Fitness FT-3000 Functional Trainer – Pulley System

This Repfitness functional trainer features the same pulley system you’ll find on the larger FT-5000. The system was built with fiberglass reinforced pulleys which allow for smooth cable pulls with little to no drag. We always recommend applying some synthetic Super Lube to your cable-based equipment, regardless of brand, and the same applies here.

The system also features a 1-handed adjustment setup that makes moving between positions mid-exercise a very simple process. The pop-pin effortlessly moves in and out of position and offers commercial-grade adjustments on the fly.

The adjust handles are rubber coated and large, making them easy to grab hold of and adjust as needed.

Rep Fitness updated this functional trainer to V2 and that now includes the ability for anyone as short as 5’3″ to perform standing cable curls next to the machine.

Rep offers a 1-year warranty on its hardware, pop pins, pulleys, and cables.

Rep Fitness Functional Trainer Weight Stacks

With a more compact design comes a smaller weight stack. While the FT-5000 offers 220 lb weight stacks, this FT-3000 functional trainer arrives with just 180 lb weight stacks. Given that the unit features a 2:1 ratio, that means the most weight you’ll be moving per stack is 90 pounds.

Unlike its bigger counterpart, the FT-3000 has a lower minimum pull weight of just 10 pounds. That’s a big plus when you consider how much a few extra pounds can affect a user’s ability to perform some smaller rotational movements that need very little weight.

Rep FT-3000 Functional Trainer Accessories

While some of the functional trainers we’ve showcased feature a ton of included accessories, the FT-3000 offers only a set of two urethane strap handles.

The best part about functional trainer accessories is that they are interchangeable, you can purchase various items online or at a local fitness store and use them with this unit. We recommend taking a look, however at the Rep Pro Series cable attachments package which offers pretty much everything you’ll need to take full advantage of your Rep FT-3000.

FT-3000 Pull-Up Bar (And Future Options)

As we previously mentioned, there are two center holes in the main crossmember for the FT-3000. Rep Fitness showcased this mockup to explain how those holes may be used for new grip options.

While we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds, we can speak to the grip bars. The FT-5000 features rubber grips that we’ve previously raved about. For some reason, Rep chose this time to offer a textured powder coat. The change in grip type seems a bit odd given how much reviewers have loved the other grip type.

While we don’t necessarily love the textured grip, the closed system allows for more variations in the type of grip choices we can make. If there’s one change we’d make outside of rubber grips, it would be to add a slight knurl to the pull-ups bars. There’s nothing worse than trying to maintain a grip with sweaty hands during any type of high-intensity workout.

Final Thoughts

The Rep FT-300 functional trainer is modestly priced at $2149.99 with shipping included, making it a bargain given its commercial build. If space in your home gym or garage gym is a concern, this piece of equipment is an ideal solution. Even if you run a small commercial gym with limited space, we would recommend this Repfitness functional trainer over many others on the market.
